Head Spa Las Vegas: What It Is, Tiers & Prices

Head spa Las Vegas is one of the fastest-growing searches in local beauty – and one of the least understood. It is not a haircut, not a regular shampoo, and not a facial that wandered upstairs. A head spa is a scalp-focused treatment done lying back in a shampoo chair: cleanse, exfoliate, massage, steam, condition. Here is what actually happens during each tier, who it suits, and what it costs at our Decatur salon.

Marvelous Nails & Lashes opens in October 2026 at 1132 S. Decatur Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146, with three head spa tiers on the official menu – Gold 60 min ($95), Zen 75 min ($115) and Diamond 90 min ($150) – plus a $95 facial. See the full menu on our pricing page.

What a head spa treatment actually includes

Every tier follows the same arc: scalp analysis, deep cleanse, exfoliation to lift product buildup and dead skin, an extended scalp and neck massage, steam to open the pores, a conditioning mask, thorough rinse and a blow-dry finish. The difference between tiers is time and depth – a 60-minute session covers the essentials, while 75 and 90 minutes add longer massage, additional treatment steps and deeper relaxation.

The massage is the point, not the garnish. The scalp carries surprising tension – anyone who grinds their teeth or works at a screen knows the feeling – and sustained scalp massage is one of the most effective ways to release it. Most clients fall asleep. That is normal and expected.

Who benefits most from a head spa

  • Dry, itchy or flaky scalp: exfoliation plus steam and conditioning resets the scalp the way a facial resets skin.
  • Product buildup: dry shampoo, styling products and Las Vegas hard water accumulate. A clarifying scalp treatment removes what regular shampoo leaves behind.
  • Stress and poor sleep: the combination of warm water, steam, scalp massage and lying still for an hour is genuinely sedating.
  • Event preparation: weddings, photos, holidays – hair styles better on a clean, balanced scalp.

One honest caveat: a head spa is a cosmetic wellness treatment, not a medical one. Persistent dandruff, hair loss or scalp conditions belong with a dermatologist. What a head spa does well is maintenance, relaxation and the health of the scalp surface.

Our head spa menu

Prices match the salon's official Marvelous2 menu and apply at 1132 S. Decatur Blvd.

  • Gold Head Spa, 60 min — $95. Scalp cleanse, massage, steam and wash. The right first visit if you have never had a head spa.
  • Zen Head Spa, 75 min — $115. Extended treatment with longer massage and additional conditioning steps.
  • Diamond Head Spa, 90 min — $150. The full luxury session – maximum time, maximum depth, the closest thing to a spa day for your scalp.
  • Facial — $95. Deep cleanse, mask and massage, bookable alone or paired with a head spa for a full reset.

Head spa vs facial vs massage: what to book

Book the head spa if your scalp needs attention or you want deep relaxation with visible hair benefits. Book the facial ($95) if your skin is the priority – deep cleanse, mask and massage for the face. Book both before a big event; they pair well because neither disturbs the other. If your main complaint is muscle pain rather than tension, a licensed massage therapist is the better call – a head spa relaxes, it does not treat injury.

What to know before your appointment

  • Arrive with clean-ish hair but skip heavy styling products; the treatment starts with a cleanse anyway.
  • Eat lightly beforehand. You will lie back for 60–90 minutes; a very full stomach makes that uncomfortable.
  • Plan to leave with wet-to-damp styled hair. The session finishes with a blow-dry, but bring no elaborate hair plans for immediately after.
  • Mention sensitivities. Essential oils, fragrances, nut-derived oils – tell your technician before the treatment starts.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a head spa in Las Vegas?

At our salon: Gold 60 min $95, Zen 75 min $115, Diamond 90 min $150. Across Las Vegas, expect roughly $80–$150 depending on length and salon tier. Our prices are printed on the official menu and confirmed by staff before any service starts.

How long does a head spa take?

60, 75 or 90 minutes depending on the tier. Budget a little extra for consultation on a first visit. You will be lying back in a shampoo chair for the whole session.

Is a head spa worth it?

If you carry tension in your scalp, neck and shoulders, struggle with buildup from dry shampoo or hard water, or simply want an hour of enforced stillness – yes. It is the rare treatment where the relaxation and the visible result arrive together.

What is the difference between a head spa and a regular salon shampoo?

A regular shampoo is five minutes of cleansing before a cut or colour. A head spa is a standalone 60–90 minute treatment with exfoliation, extended massage, steam, masks and conditioning – closer to a facial for the scalp than to a wash.
